Board & Train Services

We offer board & train services to owners, families, rescues, and other organizations who may not have the time or ability to train their own dogs. We have both a board & train and day board & train option. During our regular board & train, your dog stays with us for a minimum of 4 weeks – during that time they are trained multiple times a day, go for daily walks, play with us and/or other dogs, and are of course fed and otherwise cared for.

During our day board & train, you drop your dog off with us 3-5x/week in the morning between 9am-11am, and pick up in the afternoon between 4pm-6pm. They have the same daily structure as our regular board & train dogs, but get to come home at the end of each day, instead of staying overnight with us.

All board & train programs are custom-made to meet your goals and expectations – we offer free consultations with our head trainer in order to make sure the program is a good fit for you, and discuss what you would like us to work on while your dog is in our care.

Skills We Work on

These are some examples of what we can work on with your dog during their board & train – there is so much more that isn’t on the list. If you are looking for something you do not see listed, feel free to ask!

Obedience on and off leash (sit, down, stay, place, heel, loose leash walking, recall, etc.)
Proofing behaviours with distractions, going for outings to public parks, stores, streets, etc.
Teaching neutrality with other dogs, people/kids, and livestock.
Fix problem behaviours such as jumping up, mouthing hands, chasing wildlife, destruction, etc.
Training for human/dog aggression and reactivity
Desensitization to being handled/restrained (cooperative care) for vet visits and grooming
Confidence building
Mental stimulation (puzzle games, interactive toys, one on one games)
Postive grooming experiences (bathing, brushing, ear cleaning, nail trims, blow drying)
Specialized playtime (flirt pole, tug, spring pole, slatmill, bikejoring), and play with other dogs when appropriate. We can also teach you how to meet your dogs’ daily needs mentally and physically.

It is important to note that we can not change the genetics of a dog – we can not turn your livestock guardian into a Golden Retriever, or your working line German Shepherd into a Shih Tzu. All dogs have a personality, inherent genetic traits, and physical attributes that come together to form who they are. Our goal is to bring out the best in your dog and make sure to appropriately tailor their training to align with their natural abilities and needs.
