The training we provide focuses on the human-canine connection. These services are inclusive to dogs who have behavioural issues, regardless of severity. Our training methods are both play and relationship-based -which means we focus on curating the bond between dog and handler, teaching obedience/skills, and modifying behaviours through play. Our specialty and passion is in rehabilitating dogs with trauma and behavioural issues such as aggression and reactivity, but we also love to train pet dogs to be outstanding companions, bringing them to their full potential.
We offer free evaluations, as well as behaviour modification and obedience programs, private lessons, and day training options.
Each training program is created to fit the unique individual needs of each dog and owner. Together with our head trainer, you will discuss the goals you have, and create a training plan to meet them. Some examples of the skills we work on are:
•Obedience on and off leash (sit, down, stay, place, heel, loose leash walking, recall, etc.)
•Proofing behaviours with distractions, going for outings to public parks, stores, streets, etc.
•Teaching neutrality with other dogs, people/kids, and livestock.
•Fix problem behaviours such as jumping up, mouthing hands, chasing wildlife, destruction, etc.
•Training for human/dog aggression and reactivity
•Desensitization to being handled/restrained (cooperative care) for vet visits and grooming
•Confidence building
•Mental stimulation (puzzle games, interactive toys, one on one games)
•Postive grooming experiences (bathing, brushing, ear cleaning, nail trims, blow drying)
We can't say enough amazing things about North Grey K9. Kyle and Madison have been incredible in so many ways when it comes to working with our dog. Whether we were navigating challenges or celebrating successes, they are always there as a reliable support system. Their dedication to understanding canine behavior is truly remarkable—they don’t just train dogs, they set them up for long-term success with personalized, thoughtful approaches. It's clear they genuinely care about each dog’s well-being and progress, and their passion shines through in everything they do. We are so grateful for the positive impact they’ve had on our dog's life and ours!
I can’t say enough positive things about Kyle and the team at North Grey K9. After completing an 8 week training program, my dog is safe, manageable, and more enjoyable to be around. Kyle has helped us to flip the relationship, and has given me confidence and a foundation to deal with some of my dog’s behavioural quirks.
My dog went from being a wild aggressive beast for nail trims (requiring full sedation), to willingly giving his paws over and getting all his nails dremeled in one go, with a tail wag even! The nails were the catalyst to us going to see Kyle, but he has helped with so much more.
I highly recommend Kyle and the team at North Grey K9. Definitely worth every penny!
We learned so much in both group and private lessons with Kyle. We had gone from having a geriatric Labrador to a high energy, high prey drive, and very smart, field Golden puppy (who was insanely fast!). Reaching out to Kyle was the best thing that we could have ever done. 😀 We learned so much about dog psychology, types of drive, how to work on engagement, different training methods, and daily management of behaviours. Kyle always made sure that we knew why some things that we had been doing worked, and why other things had not. A wealth of knowledge. With his guidance and encouragement, we learned how to better our relationship with Digby as a whole. Digby is now a well-trained dog who is mentally and physically fulfilled. He gets to enjoy trouble-free off-leash freedom regularly. We are so pleased with our results and HIGHLY recommend their services.
I can’t say enough about how much Kyle helped with my dog Zeus. We had tried a few other trainers, and he was the only one who really got him, and what he needed. We drove from Mississauga and it was worth every kilometre!!! I now really enjoy walking my dog and don’t stress, and he seems way happier too. I would recommend North Grey K9 to anyone without hesitation.
